2-1-1 Update

Have you had trouble reaching our helpline?
in

Yesterday, we had reports that calls made through landline phones to Mass2-1-1, our free health and human service referral line, unable through to our call center. Testing yesterday revealed that we had a "landline switching problem". We are working with Verizon and Paytec to ensure that this will be repaired as quickly as possible. Calling 2-1-1 via cell phone should work fine. Until the problem is completely resolved, individuals can call our toll free number: 877.211.6277 to be connected to help.

Thanks to United Way of of Tri- County for the update!  read more »

93 year old freezes to death after utility shut off: A 93-year-old Michigan man froze to death this week inside his home days after the power company limited his use of electricity because of unpaid bills. If you or anyone you know are having a hard time meeting your utility bills, please call 2-1-1 for help.

Super Bowl Single Girl: A woman in Manhattan is trying to raise $3 million to buy a Superbowl ad so she can find love.  She’s raised $6200 so far and if she doesn’t reach her $3 million goal, she’s donating it all to UW.  We're so close to Valentine's that it seems wrong to hope for lovelessness...but $2.9 million or less could help a lot of people...  Good luck to her either way. I'm glad she thought of UW.  read more »
