Profiles in Hunger
Recovering lawyer and photographer Michael Nye, uses his camera lens as a tool for awareness and advocacy. His exhibition "About Hunger and Resilience" integrates images with audio to bring us the stories of 50 people who have experienced hunger and food insecurity in the United States.
In a place were supersize is king, it is easy to forget that many people struggle with the most basic need for sustenance: food. It is necessary to acknowledge that these stories are all around us, and that it is imperative for us to take action to ensure it doesn't happen anymore. In the poignant words of Mr. Nye "These stories are about all of us as we live with our uncertainties and the realization that we too could experience hunger." So true.
