Smart Choices at Tax Time

April 15th is two weeks away!  Okay…maybe you finished your taxes and already earning interest on your refund placed in a savings/investment vehicle…and maybe not!!

Whether it is tax time or not, here is a heads up on Smart Choices, an online resource developed by United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley, with Community-Based Financial Planners.  Smart Choices offers simple tools and tips to help families reach their financial goals; it integrates user-friendly financial education with tax filing.   Topics range from tax basics, establishing or repairing credit, ways to save, and self-employment.  Available in English and in Spanish, you can access (and download) the entire document or each subject page via links in the list of topics.  It was made especially with the low-to-moderate income taxfiler in mind (aligned with United Way’s EITC Initiatives and free tax preparation sites) however, provides a resource for everyone!
