MassCAP Executive Director interviewed by Chris Lovett on EITC:
About 50,000 eligible Massachusetts households (less than $41,646 depending on household composition) do not claim this tax credit that could give you back thousands of dollars in your own earnings. In the interview below, Joe Diamond, executive director of the Massachusetts Association for Community Action, explains that about $75 million dollars is left unclaimed in Massachusetts alone. (If you can't see the embedded video above, here's the link on youtube.)
United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley has partnered in a statewide EITC Coalition with the Federal Reserve Bank, City of Boston, IRS, MA Department of Revenue, MIDAS Collaborative, MassCAP, and many others to ensure that more of these dollars are claimed by the Massachusetts workers who earned them.
