School in which she/he teaches: South Shore Charter Public School
Briefly, describe why: Nora is my son's first grade teacher and her enthusiasm for education and learning is infectious. My son comes home from school bursting with new knowledge, discusses exciting new projects, has confidence in new skills he is learning, and has a general love for school. I attribute his success to the fact that he has a great teacher - one who is committed to her students and to the school itself. She sets realistic expectations, but also allows her students to be challenged and continue to reach for new heights in their learning. She is simply a great teacher, one who should definitely be recognized and honored by the United Way!

School in which she/he teaches: South Shore Public Charter School
Briefly, describe why: Nora had taught my children for a few years now. She goes out of her way to encourage her students. Just this past Friday night, Nora called me at home to tell me about a positive situation that my daughter Olivia was involved in. She wanted to make sure that we knew how she helped another student in her class. To take to the time to call, after hours, just to let us know something we may never had heard about.
She is one of a kind!

Name of the teacher who rocks! Nora Broderick
School in which she/he teaches: South Shore Charter Public School, Norwell, MA
Briefly, describe why: Nora rocks! She teaches Level 1 (1st & 2nd grade) at the South Shore Charter Public School. Nora works with each child's personality and learning style. My son, Louis is in her class and as most 6 year olds, can be fidgety at times. She has worked with him on different ways he can be more focused. Nora has also given us tools we can use when going over Louis's homework.
Nora is a excellent teacher and nurturing person. She should be nominated as a "Teacher Who Rocks!"

Name of the teacher who rocks! Nora Broderick
School in which she/he teaches: South Shore Charter Public School
Briefly, describe why: Miss Nora believes that every child has the ability to be great. She finds each child's individual strength and builds on those strengths to give each child the self confidence to achieve any of their goals. She also fosters an environment in the classroom that gives the children a thirst for knowledge. In a time when being "plugged in" is the go to for the quick and easy way to get the answer, Miss Nora helps the children to understand the satisfaction of doing research in a dictionary/encyclopedia to find your answers which often results in a the child learning more. Her first and second graders are set for a lifetime of learning after they have had the privilege of her teaching skills.

Name of the teacher who rocks! Nora Broderick
School in which she/he teaches: South Shore Charter Public School
Briefly, describe why: I sometimes think that Nora must have magic powers. When I look at her classroom, I see 22 students. When she looks at it, I believe, she sees each student as an individual. Every child in that room feels special and empowered by Nora. She knows each of their strengths and weaknesses so well and devises creative ways to deal with both. And she does all this with a soft voice and in an environment she created that allows for mistakes and rewards kindness.
