Name of the teacher who rocks! Betty Gaffey
School in which she/he teaches: Brookline High School
Briefly, describe why: Betty is an amazing teacher. She not only dedicates so much of her personal time to educating her students but she advocates for them outside of school when they need support. I worked with a client in DCF care who was at risk for losing services. Betty was calling me regularly and attended every DCF meeting to make sure my client didn't lose any services or housing. She was willing to take personal time to work with my client/her student to make sure she passed all her classes to make sure she graduated (which helps her keep DCF)
